Can I stream from my laptop thru my att uverse box? If so what channel do I tune tv to?

pc has hdmi and so does the att box.|||umm not sure about that but i do know they offer a website that basically does the same thing for att uverse customers

its like myattuverse.com or something i dont know

What channel number is the cw on att uverse?

I live in Cleveland , Ohio. Thanks so much !|||CW is an over-the-air broadcast network, like Fox, ABC, etc., so the channel number in your area will depend on which local broadcast station is the local CW affiliate. The link below seems to suggest your nearest CW station is WBNX in Akron. U-Verse in Cleveland may or may not have that station in its listing; you'll have to look for it.

Because it's an over-the-air station, it will be listed among the HD channels in your U-Verse guide, if they have it at all. Just look for WBNX among the HD channels. Since the station is outside of the Cleveland area, it may not be there.

I live in Grand Rapids, MI 49548 and we just got ATT Uverse.I cant find the CW can anyone help me out?

Me and my family all watch the CW. We watch gossip girl, the vamire diaries, and supernatural. We used to have Comcast, but when we switched we cant find the CW. Any help.|||You can do a Search in the U-verse Menu to look when those channels come on and what channel they come on.

Press Menu go down to Search and press OK.

You can use the arrows or the number pad o the remote to type the name of the show you are looking for.

It will bring up the show on the right side of the screen and you can press OK on it for more information.

Suddenly have more channels on uverse?

Today i turned on my uverse receiver and realized I have more channels then originally had. I did not order anything and it just happened. Whats going on with this?|||They've opened up the U450 subscription package to all subscribers for about a week, as a promotion. Enjoy it while you can.

How do I find the SSID # for 2wire 941 UVERSE. I have the WEP key but the DSI requires the SSID #.?

When we got UVERSE a couple months ago the tech gave me the WEP key but nothing else...I can't find it on the modem :(|||WEP isn't worth a rat's keester to begin with.

Reset the router to factory defaults (using the reset button on back) and redo the entire setup, like this:

Go to your router mfgr's website %26amp; get the User Manual for the unit.

You'll need to use this for navigating around the 'Administrative interface".

(While there MAKE CERTAIN to check for 'firmware' updates to your model!)

Wireless Router settings:

With a CAT5 cable, tether the router to computer; open a browser; in the address bar type 192.168.X.X (see User Manual for exact address for administration interface address) %26amp; find the Settings for Security).

Default entrance info page: http://www.routerpasswords.com/

Set for WPA (WPA2 if your computers support this level) %26amp; AES.

(Use WEP only as a last resort: it's apprentice work to crack).

Also;

Turn off 'SSID' broadcast (be sure to give your network a new name (nothing obvious!) %26amp; write it down; it will be needed to 'Add' your WiFi network later in your computer settings;

(Or have a little fun by naming it "[your County's] Sheriff's Department Intercept")

Disable: UPnP; QoS (unless using VoIP or gaming); and WAN access to Administrative interface.

Enable: Router management username %26amp; bulletproof passphrase (not the same as Internet access password, which would be the PSK (Pre-Shared Key)).

PSK's should be over 7 characters; letters %26amp; numbers (mixed), not words.

Put this # on tape %26amp; put on the top of the router for easy access.

Note: Mac address filtering will prevent casual freeloaders, but will not deter committed hackers. Mac addresses are on the front end of packets, therefore un-encrypted %26amp; easily copied and used to 'spoof' packets; enabling a 'man in the middle' attacks.

You might want to also set (in 'Connections') as 'always connected' to prevent disconnects when there is no activity to or from the Internet.

These changes should be "Saved" before you disconnect the CAT5. See your manual for how/where to do that.|||The SSID your looking for is the name of your network in your home. 2WIRE941 would be the SSID if that is the name of the network you connect to. Hope that helped.

What's the * number you dial yo check your voicemail from home on att uverse?

It's *98 (star-nine-eight).

You are then asked for the pin that you set up initially for voicemail.

Does anyone know where I can find the telephone number to at&t uverse?

I live in the Indianapolis area and I really want the u-verse. but online it says it's not in my area. Other people told me they had the same problems so they called and it is available in their area. So does anyone know the number?|||Call 1-800-288-2020 for assistance, including 24 x 7 technical support. When prompted, say: Order U-verse Service, Billing, or U-verse Technical Support.

Can I record a ps3 with a uverse dvr?

I am switching to at%26amp;t uverse and I am getting dvr service. Can I wire my ps3 to the dvr to record games, or should I invest in an hd-pvr? Quality doesn't matter too much. Thanks|||You can only record Uverse with the Uverse DVR.

You need something else to record your PS3.

I am currently a Time Warner cable customer but am considering switching to AT&T Uverse. Should I?

Is the quality of AT%26amp;T better than Time Warner in terms of picture, user friendliness, guide options, OnDemand?|||It very likely is. We have Time Warner and it sucks! Poor picture quality. Interruptions of service. It will freeze up across all channels for an hour at a time! When you call to see what the problem might be, it's always somebody else's fault! I'm waiting for the weather to break so I can get a trench dug and switch to another cable TV provider!

Will at&t Uverse have all the games of the 2010 FIFA World Cup?

I recently got uverse and i heard people saying that they werent guna show any of the games, but I have espn, espn 2,espn deportes, ABC, Univision, galavision and all those channels. Does anyone know if I'll be able to watch the World Cup? :/|||Yeah, you'll be able to watch it.

Enjoy it, coz it gonna be awesome :D:))|||If you have all of those channels, then YES, you should be able to watch the games.

What is the remote code for Samsung hd tv for the ATT uverse remote control?

i dunno but i know how to find it. Hit code search and hold it till the light blinks. Then keep pushing the power button, not too fast or youll pass it, until the tv turns on if off or off if on. When it does hit enter. You should now have the code in the remote. Try it. If it dont work yous pushin power too fast do it again slower.

I'm having trouble with my ATT Uverse connection and My Xbox Live?

My gateway for Uverse is on the first floor and my Xbox 360 is on the third floor on the opposite side of the house. I have next to no signal where my Xbox 360 is located. It only works maybe 20% of the time.

Is there a way I can get a stronger wireless signal from My ATT Uverse Gateway to My 360 without having a tech come out and move the gateway?|||If there is a AT%26amp;T U-verse cable box in that same room you can connect an Ethernet cable from the back of the Xbox 360 to the back of the cable box in the Network port and you wont have to deal with the wireless.

If not you can purchase a wi-fi extender to "boost" the wireless signal.|||get a wireless amplifier/repeater t see them in hotels all the time they plug in the wall and have a antenna on the top basically it takes in your weak signal and amplifies it to make it stronger.

I am trying to find Fast & Furious on At&t Uverse 450 package, how do I find it?

I seen it on earlier, on USA but I couldn't see it the future week to record it. Doesn't anybody know the channel it's on in the future or a guide online on the at%26amp;t itself I can search for it.|||I don't know. But can I have 10 points anyway?...Please? They are just going to go to waste!

Come on... PLEASE!

I have ATT Uverse, how do I get a new IP address?

I've tried ipconfig/release and ipconfig/renew but that doesn't do the trick (as I knew it wouldn't). I have ATT Uverse and is replacing the cable/router (portal box thing) the only way of getting a new IP address?|||Yes the only way you might be able to know that the IP address is truly changed is by having a new Residential Gateway installed for you. This would cost 55 dollars from a technician to come and do this though. Another thing you can try is accessing the Residential Gateways system GUI. This can be done by going to 192.168.1.254/mdc . In this you can select resets and select reset ip. Be warned that going into this is all on you and be careful what you select. Also you will need the system password on the side of the Gateway to log into the device. Hope that helps.

How can I use my vcr recorder with my uverse tv reciever?

You will need to connect the outputs from your UVerse TV reciever to the inputs on your VCR.

Here are some general recommendations*

For sound, hook both the red and white round connectors on your UVerse set top box to the red and white input connectors on your VCR. (Important, your VCR may have both input and output connections that look the same... you need to connect to the input connections on your VCR)

For video there is probably a round yellow connection that looks the same as the red and white connections. Connect the round yellow connector to the round yellow connector on your VCR. (Again, use the input connectors on your VCR)

Once you have the connections made, tune your UVerse box to the channel you want to record, and start the recording on your VCR.

(Note... If what you want is for your VCR to change the channel then record at a specific time, you are more or less out of luck. Unless you have an unusually advanced VCR, it probably does not have the ability to change channels on other devices (i.e. your Uverse Set Top Box) If this is what you want to do, I would encourage you to look into the DVR features on your UVerse DVR box.)

Good Luck

*Note, my recommendations are very general... Depending on your VCR you may have other/better options. But I tried to give suggestions that I thought would work for most VCRs.

Why do I only get up to 45 recordings on my AT&T uverse DVR?

My friends DVR has like 160 and I read people can actually get up to 203. Why does mine only get to 45?|||It depends on your DVR hard drive (if they vary from model space) and the program/movie hours. Movies take lots of space than 30-minute programs.

Was there a mass wireless problem with ATT Uverse?

On April 4th my wireless internet lost all connections. I don't know what the problem is as there appears to be nothing wrong with my wired internet, but I was talking around and a few others had the same problem I am having. Like I said, the only problem I am having is my wireless internet, my phone, cable and wired internet is working just fine.|||It's not likely that this problem has anything to do with the AT%26amp;T U-Verse network. Your wireless Internet, as you know, is a link between your laptop and your Residential Gateway (the U-Verse modem-router). In that sense, it's not too different from a wired connection to your computer; the signal just gets to the RG a different way.

Your problem almost certainly has to be something unique to your installation--something between your RG and your computer.. If you know of others having similar problems, that's not unusual, and it's equally common with all systems, not just U-Verse.

Do anyone know how to program a Uverse remote to a LG LD350 TV?

I got a LG LD350 TV and have tried programing a U-Verse Remote to it, and none of the LG codes work and I sat there for 5 minutes holding the play button down trying the auto program mode. Does anyone know if they even have a code for this TV??|||See the link below for the U-Verse remote code list. Notice that LG appears under two headings, "TV" and "HDTV."

I would start with the 3 codes under "HDTV" since you have a fairly new HD set. If none of those work, start with the codes in the other column, under "TV."

LG is a major brand, so it's reasonable that AT%26amp;T is going to have your code somewhere on this list. I used it with three other sets (Vizio, Samsung, Sharp) with no problem.

Which answering machine not att works best with uverse?

want to discontinue voice mail on att uverse and hook up a separate answering machine that will still work and not interfere with att uverse . which one can you recommend ?|||any answering machine will do...

voicemail is probably bundled with the cost of the service, and it is probably better to keep the voicemail instead of replacing it with an answering machine...

voicemail will still take messages when you are on a phone call, and answering machine will not....

voicemail will still take messages if there is a trouble with your phone service, an answering machine will not...

voicemail will still take messages if there is a power outage in your house... an answering machine will not...

you could connect an answering machine to your phone line and not cancel the voicemail - but you would have to make sure that the answering machine was set up to answer with less rings than your voicemail was..

a better option would be to look for a phone that has a voicemail indicator light on it, so that you can see when there are messages waiting for you on your voicemail..|||can not email you, nor contact you via pulse...

most brands have phones that have voicemail indicator lights on them.. check the packaging, or the salesman at your local electronics dealer.. i would try to stick with panasonic DECT phones..

|||Any common answering machine should work with U-verse digital phone service. I have two friends who do it with no problem.

I thought i heard somewhere that you can watch att uverse on xbox 360?

if this is possible what is required? other than the $100 you need to make it work, will they charge you as if its another HD receiver? And how do they make it work i mean where or how do you plug the cable in to the xbox?|||I have never heard of being able to watch any other video service other than Netflix. Sorry.

If you unplug your cable for at&t uverse does it hurt your tv?

i'm trying to rearrange my room, and need to move my tv. if i unplug it from the box, will anything go wrong besides if having it reboot? please help ASAP! thanks!|||NO, IT WILL BE FINE. YOU CAN UNPLUG IT AS MANY TIMES AS YOU WANT.

Do I have to call AT&T Uverse to move TV to another cable outlet?

i want o move my furniture but I think the installer only set it up to where the TV is now. I want to move it to the other side of the living room where there is another cable outlet but do I have to call them to come set it up. Will there be another charge.|||If the inside wiring to the new outlet goes to the same splitter that feeds the original outlet, it should work as-is. Just move your U-Verse receiver and TV, and try it. Be sure to follow the boot-up process shown on the label on the front of the receiver.

If you try this and get no signal, then the new outlet isn't connected back to the same cable wiring in your home that feeds your U-Verse receiver(s). Anyone skilled with such work, such as a licensed electrician or a knowledgeable and experienced do-it-yourselfer could deal with with. But if you need to pay someone to do it for you, call AT%26amp;T. That way any new wiring will be exactly to their standards, and they'll get it set up and working for you before they leave.

------------

Followup: you could try it without moving your TV or the receiver. Go to a hardware store or home improvement center, visit the electrical department, and buy a long coaxial cable extension with the TV fittings on both ends. They come in various lengths up to 50 feet. Connect the proposed new outlet to your U-Verse receiver where it sits now, and see what you get. Then proceed as suggested above.

Any way I can use AT&T Uverse cable without a set top box?

I have a TV Tuner card in my PC but it doesn't pick up the signal. Don't have any room on my desk (nor want a bigger desk). Any way to make it work without a Set Top Box?|||Quote: "I have a TV Tuner card in my PC but it doesn't pick up the signal"

If you tried hooking up your PC tuner card to the gateway directly then no you wont get any signal, AT%26amp;T U-verse works in tandem with the gateway and room receivers, you need both parts to get your signal via the receiver.

I have both U-verse and a PC with a TV tuner card, AT%26amp;T U-Verse comes with a gateway and TV tuner/receiver box's, I can not see why you could not use it on your PC, Just hook up the U-Verse TV receiver to your PC Tuner card either by cable or composite hookups, the U-verse TV receiver box has many hook up options for TV sets and like most TV sets PC tuner cards in PCs usually have 75 ohm cable to composite or s-video hookups. If you use 75 ohm cable to hook it up just tune to channel 3 or 4 on the PC tuner to tune it in, if you use composite or S-Video then switch your PC tuner card to that source.

Have too add if your PC Tuner Card only tunes in digital TV then you are best to use the composite/S-Video connection method if your card supports those connections, this is also the best connection method for picture quality being better.

(Note- Use the U-verse receiver/tuner for your setup, this will Not work from the U-verse Gateway Box which is needed to feed the U-verse TV receivers and gives you INTERNET connection if applicable.) You will change your channels via the U-verse TV receiver anyways.|||U-verse is a sophisticated IP system that requires its own particular modem and distribution arrangement. It works great on its own equipment and not at all on anything else.

"Tuner card" and "set top box" are terms that apply to cable TV, not AT%26amp;T U-Verse.

If you lose power does At&t Uverse still record your scheduled shows?

We lost power in the snow storm on October 30 and I had a show set to record on October 31, did this show still record, even though there's no power? Or did it not record at all?|||No, since it records locally, requiring power to do that.

How to program uverse remote to work with my television.?

Your remote should've came with a booklet and it'll give instructions. Its sounds like you don't have your booklet. If you google your remote brand and model number you should be able to download the manual for free. Remotes and TVS have so many different codes that it would be impossible to tell you how to do it, especially without even knowing your brands of devises|||To program your remote you can get the manual online at

http://store.att.com/manuals/remote_cont鈥?/a>

In there you can go to to section B and it will tell you how to program your remote automatically.

It also has the codes to put in manually if you have problems with the automatic search.

How to put AT&T UVERSE shows on a dvd?

ok, so im super excited for the marathon on the whole 1st season of pretty little liars and i would like to be able to have it on a dvd disk. any suggestions? thanksss|||I've never tried this, but I think it would work in theory. You'll need a separate DVD recording deck. Connect an available output from the U-verse DVR to the matching input on the DVD deck. Record the episodes in the normal manner on your DVR. When you play one back, burn a disk in the DVD deck.

The only thing that might interfere with this scheme is that some TV broadcasts are electronically copy-protected, so your recording won't "take." Unless you get a warning message when you start burning the disk, you won't know until it finishes and you wind up with nothing.

If the program is copy-protected, there's no legal way to record it..|||Hi, put AT%26amp;T UVERSE shows on a dvd, that's easy, you can follow my steps, first you have to download the AT%26amp;T UVERSE shows from the internet to your computer hard drive, Usually, I download free shows via torrent, I think it's a good choice for download free shows from internet, first you can search "the shows name+ torrent" on the google or yahoo to download the .torrent file of the shows, then you can use bittorrent or utorrent to download the actual shows file through torrent files. Then if you want to burn the downloaded shows on a dvd so that you can watch it on dvd player, you just need to use a right software to burn a video DVD from your downloaded shows, because most dvd players only recognize video dvd format well, if you don't know how to do that, you could follow me to use RZ DVD Creator, it can convert any videos or movies to video DVD and burn to any DVD disk(DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, DVD-R DL, DVD+R DL, etc), such as convert your downloaded AT%26amp;T UVERSE shows to video dvd then burn on a dvd, etc, easy to use, insert a dvd disk into your computer dvd burner drive, run RZ DVD Creator, select the dvd burner drive as the target folder, drag and drop the AT%26amp;T UVERSE shows into the software, then press the START button, you will get a right video dvd, then you can watch the burned video dvd well on your DVD player, You could yahoo or google search and download RZ DVD Creator, hope it could help you

By the way, burn DVD, first you must have a right dvd burner drive on your computer, most dvd burner drives have a "DVD RW" sign on the dvd drive panel, you can check your computer to validate if there's a right dvd burner drive on your computer.|||You can DVR it.

I see it for 37.99.

I think all you have to do is get a dvd(blank) and set it to record it, just watch it on that tv all day.

Does anyone know a remote programming code for AT&T uverse on an HP dlp tv?

I've looked through the guide it came with but I can't find one for HP and I have also called them but no luck :(. Does anyone else have this problem?|||HP makes no more TVs, so I doubt anybody bothers with their remote codes...

At some point, they were allowing Philips codes for basic on/off and volume. Give it a try.

Or buy a universal LEARNING remote that support ATT Uverse and you can teach it the HP codes.

How to program ATT Uverse Remote to control Proton LX32B1C2 TV?

I've tried all the TV codes online but none of them works!!!|||Then I guess you'll have to talk to an ATT Uverse representative.

Little did they know when they had their remotes made for them that people would buy the cheapest, most off-brand sets imaginable.|||Did you try these?

Proton 1004, 1011

That's from the U-Verse code list (1st link below). If that doesn't work, try the automatic code finder process in the 2nd link. Good luck.

Is ATT internet changing to only uverse?

I live in Los Angeles and received a letter saying ATT internet is changing to only uverse at the end of the month and if I dont update my service will not work.

I thought it was a marketing tactic but I dont really know, is it true?|||No , that's wrong . Uverse is having tons of problems with their tv service . They are delaying changing from dsl to uverse , until 2013|||Hello, I'm with AT%26amp;T. If you'll email me your account/contact information I'd be happy to look into the issue for your. Please email me your information at ATTMartyC@att.com, please include Yahoo Answers and your account/log in name in the subject line. Thank you, Marty C|||I use att myself and i live in LA. i have not received such letter, i thinks its just spam so if your not sure call them.

Can I hook up an AT & T Uverse cable line to a TV without the ATT U-verse box?

With regular (e.g., Time Warner) cable, I can do so, I just don't get the premium channels on that extra TV. With ATT Uverse, I don't seem to get any signal at all when I hook up one of the extra cables that connect to the ATT Uverse box. I do have additional TVs with the boxes, and they work fine.|||This is not possible.

Thanks.

Has anyone else had issues with att uverse wifi?

k, so we just got att uverse and its got the wifi in the modem. i want to connect my ds and eventually my ipod touch to this wifi. my question is 1) will ihave to disable firewalls to get it to work? 2) same, but for the ipod touch?|||you may have an issue connecting with the DS as it only supports wep encryption and most wifi routers these days are setup with wpa, check the encryption on the router, you may be able to change it to wep. |||no you won't but if you have the router password protected and the wep security turned on you will need the password

Is ther anybody having trouble wit the volume on their TVs after the uverse was added.?

I have some channels that sound ok, but then theirs a few that won't get lound although the volume is all the way up.|||It is possible that you have the volume on your Uverse Set Top Box not turned all the way up.

Take one of your UVerse remotes and re set it to control the Set Top Box... you can find instructions here : http://helpme.att.net/pdf/uverse/remote_鈥?/a>

What is the usb port used for on the uverse receiver box?

I was just wondering if it would be possible to connect and view contents of my external hard drive such as pictures or movies|||Right now it is not activated...

If/when it were activated, I would imagine it would be used to support adding an external hard drive for more storage space (a la TiVo).

Given that Media-Net in on the horizon, I kinda doubt it will be used to download media (video, movies, etc)... But who knows.

Note that while not activated, it IS powered. So you can use your Set Top Box to power or recharge most any USB powered device.|||I was told it was for "future development". It does not have a function now. My guess it will be for a camcorder or to upload/download

What are the codes for ATT uverse remote code for a Dynex TV?

I have a Dynex tv/DVD combo the cable guy connected it and it works to turn on and off the tv and cable box except after I turn it on I can change the channels all I want, but once I find something to watch and decide to change it after watching, I cannot change the channel (yes it is on for the cable box not tv) so I rebooted the cable box and it worked to change the channels then it happened again where I can't change the channels again. Please help.|||There doesn't seem to be any Dynex codes in the U-verse code list (link below). But in reading your question, it's unclear whether you are trying to change channels on your TV or on the U-Verse receiver. In a U-Verse installation, you do not change channels on the TV, only on the U-verse receiver, and the U-verse remote will definitely do it.

If you have any problem doing that, first press the AT%26amp;T button in the upper left corner of the remote. That sets the remote to operate the U-verse receiver instead of the TV or something else. That could solve your problem.

I forgot my parental lock pasword for AT&T uVerse Television?

I forgot my parental lock password for AT%26amp;T uVerse Television, so is there some kind of alternate password to automatically unlock the parental lock? Is there any way to do this without calling AT%26amp;T?|||The only way to unlock the parental controls if you don't have the PIN is to talk to AT%26amp;T U-verse Technical Support at 1-800-288-2020 so we can reset it for you.|||google it......

I click the thing to reverify it, it takes me to the at%26amp;t uverse page, but when it finishes loading, the page is blank. help!|||You should definitely call AT%26amp;T they can help you with this. I won't use McAfee. On your monthly bill look for the Internet Service number.

I recently had my cable system changed to AT&T Uverse. Since the installation, my center spreaker goes out?

I have a Sony reciever with surround sound. When the center speaker goes out, I can giggle the outside speaker connection on the receiver and the center speaker works again, for a while.|||The center speaker has nothing to do with the switch from cable to U-Verse. It's obviously a bad speaker wire connection at the receiver if it comes in and out when you wiggle the cable. It probably just came loose a bit when equipment and/or cables were moved around during the installation of U-Verse. Just secure the wiring to the center speaker properly and the problem should go away.

BTW - it it's the kind of speaker cable that plugs into a jack instead of a bare wire that connects to a speaker terminal, it could be the cable itself that went bad. In this case, you would have to replace the cable.|||I'm not sure how you have the speaker connected, but just to make sure, I would re-connect. If it's a strip-wire connection (end of wire stripped and wrapped around the terminal), then re-strip a bit and re-do. Also, check the connector itself. Is it loose in the receiver cabinet so that the connection is unreliable?

Considering AT&T Uverse. Does the television feature slow down the internet feature?

I am to understand that they both come in on the same cable. I frequently utilize bittorrent and other bandwidth intensive programs. As such, will this affect the TV signal(perhaps make it laggy, etc). this is a major factor in my choosing Uverse or something else.|||No...the bandwidth for TV is minimal-negligible. The only time TV service is affected is if the entire unit, Residential Gateway, aka RG, is without power or can not locate and sync a signal...sometimes due to outtages or faulty eqp...make sure you try rebooting it and if you find you have to reboot it many times, call and try getting a replacement as it may be defective.

What happened to my at&t uverse box on My Yahoo?

I used to be able to record tv shows from "My Yahoo" and now I don't see the "uverse" box anymore. I hope they haven't done away with this feature??|||It's probably a Yahoo! update that cleared it off the page for you. Try this:

-At the Top left of the website you should see: Categories - My Page - New Tab

-Select My Page

-Then select Add Content

-When you get the new drop-down area, type U-Verse in the new search window to the far right and then click the magnifying glass.

-You should then see U-Verse to the far left with an icon of a paper with the planet.

-Select Add for that icon and then you should see the U-Verse option on the page.

It may be at the top left or at the bottom of the page.

From my Uverse AT&T app I can DVR a show. Does the box at home need to be turned on to dvr? Never had dvr. ?

Thanks! New to dvr and uverse.|||The AT%26amp;T U-verse DVR can record shows when it is in Standby mode. Standby mode is when the power button on the DVR is not lit but the box is still receiving power.

How does At&t Uverse compare to Time Warner Cable?

I currently use Time Warner for High Speed internet and Digital Cable with DVR and a few HD channels that are available. I want to know how AT%26amp;T uverse compares. I currently live in a new housing development that has Fiber Optic lines to the premises. Price is not as much of a factor as quality of service.|||At%26amp;t Uverse sucks. We had it for 3 weeks and went back 2 cable.

1. The DVR doesn't work sometimes. Which is annoying.

2. The tv image will freeze on all the tv's for minutes to hours at a time.

3. You can only get 4 tv streams at a time. Meaning 4 tv's can be on at a time.

However if you are recording a tv show with the DVR and watching another channel on that same tv that counts as 2 tv streams, so you only have 2 tv streams left.

4. The QOS sucks. No internet or TV for hours at a time sometimes.

In Conclusion, when you have no internet and your F@#king DVR doesn't record an important show, you will got back to your reliable Tivo and Cable TV.|||I think this was a very ignorant response. Just because one person is having issues doesn't mean everyone does. We have had Uverse for several months now and it has the best standard definition picture quality of any service I have ever had. EVER! Better than ota, satelite, and especially cable.

What should I do?|||You most likely need a new box. Your best bet is to call AT%26amp;T. If you really want to save the one you have, unplug it and let it dry out completely before you plug it back in. Chances are it's shot though. You could also just switch to satellite and get a new DVR for free. Both Dish Network and DirecTV offer service everywhere with free equipment and free installation. Both give out free HD DVR's too. How to setup wifi with at&t uverse high speed internet?

we have at%26amp;t highspeed internet i followed the steps, and the lights on the modem router thing for wireless and wifi setup are not on and when i check the status for the device on the computer it says that wireless is on? help??|||http://www.att.com/esupport/article.jsp?鈥?/a>

That's the support page for Uverse wireless setup. Click personalize your support to reset the page info to your operating system. At the bottom it mentions disabling protected setup in the router if you're having a problem with a device. It provides the steps to do that. That would be one option if you're having a wireless setup issue. If you log onto your account at the AT%26amp;T site I'm guessing that you can get to 24/7 live support. You might as well check for that for a more direct logic tree resolution or in case they need to reset anything on their end of the connection.|||the wireless light on the RG will not come on until you are connected...go to control panel...navigate to your network and sharing center....connect to a network....i'm guessing your using the motorolla NVG510...your wireless info will be on a sticker on the side of your RG

What is the best internet and cable tv or dish service in Dallas? I have AT&T Uverse wireless internet and ?

cable. I live in a townhome in very close proximity to my neighbors on each side. AT%26amp;T has been here a few times and said their system is so sensitive that a wireless device in my neighbors house may be interfering, causing me to lose service several times a day. HELP! Thanks|||First of all, I think AT%26amp;T's answer is BS. Wireless devices are common. If their equipment is so sensitive that it is affected by wireless devices through walls then this problem would be affecting many more customers than you. They would have shielded their equipment to prevent loss of customers. The service I prefer for clarity %26amp; excellent customer service is DirecTV although you will experience occasional weather outages %26amp; have to have a roof or outside location for the dish. |||I have at%26amp;t internet and I have dish network. At&t uverse remote and control box not changing channels or anything else?

When I went to the uverse box the only button that would work is the power button. The remote would only turn it on and off as well. I just reset the uverse box and I'm waiting for it to get done resetting. Just bought a sylvania lcd tv and can't get my att uverse remote to program any suggestions?

i tried every code in the guide but none work. help please.|||Contact At%26amp;t!! They will tell you how to do it.|||You can try to use the Automatic search function that this remote has.

You can press and hold the TV button at the top of the remote while holding it tap the OK button in the middle. Let go of OK then TV. You should see the four red lights flash at the top of the remote. After they flash press 922 then tap the play button until you see the TV turn on/off. Quickly let go and the Enter or Zoom button that is below the 9 button. Press TV then Power to test it out. If it does not turn the TV back on/off then you can try the process again.

If the remote refuses to turn the TV on or off with the process you can try to replace the batteries and try again. If it still does not turn the TV on or off it may be that the U-verse remote does not have a code for that TV.

I just switched my internet to AT&T Uverse, and my download is 6mbps and upload is 1 mbps is that good?

I want to be able to play online games like halo, resident evil, smash brothers without lagging like hell. is that fast enough?|||Speed is not lag. Someone with less speed but also less lag will still have the advantage. Speed depends mostly on your connection from you to your ISP. Lag depends mostly on how many hops from you to the game server. You could still have huge lag. If you do, find a game server closer to you.|||Yes that is much more than needed. Just make sure you dont have any bandwidth hogs on; Like bittorrent/kazaa/limewire etc..|||its fast enough .....

Can i hook my computer to my tv using the uverse cable box?

Can i hook my computer up to the t.v. using my cable box? My t.v. doesn't have all of the slots that is needed but the cable box does. And will it show up on the t.v. if i plugged them in?|||First, understand that you don't have a "cable" box. It's a U-Verse receiver. They're not the same. U-Verse is very different than cable service.

Next, those connectors you mentioned on the back of the U-Verse receiver are outputs for TVs, not inputs. You cannot connect anything to them, except to send the output of the box to your TV so you can watch channels.

Like the other answer says, you failed to identify the connections on the output of computer (VGA? DVI? HDMI?), and you failed to include the most basic necessary information for nearly all questions in this forum--the make and model of your TV. So any answer beyond what we've given thus far would only be a shot in the dark.

---------------

Followup per your Additional Details: okay, so your computer has an HDMI output. Does it have other outputs? And your TV doesn't have an HDMI input? Okay, what *does* it have?|||No!!

Your cable box has outputs which are intended to go to the TV. Plugging a cable in because it happens to be the right shape isn't exactly how you are supposed to do this, not to mention that you don't plug a computer output into a cable box output and expect anything useful to happen.

You have managed not to give any useful information that would help us give you an answer. What inputs does your TV have? If it is simply the case of not having enough of a particular input type on your TV, you can buy an external switch to connect your things to.|||if your tv only has a coaxial input its time to upgrade if you want to connect a comp to your tv .even if you could rig it up your tv is so old it couldnt handle the refresh rate anyway or the aspect or wide screen. where your computer can. time for a LCD,plasma or led TV

Can I watch TV with a HDMI cable from my laptop to an AT&T UVerse digital TV box?

I have a Toshiba Satellite A505. I'm not sure if I still have to buy a TV tuner or if I can just buy a HDMI cable.

If I have to buy a TV tuner, which is the best brand to buy? Thanks.|||Usually your HDMI port is a HDMI out, meaning you can put content on your TV, not the other way around.

As far as TV tuners go, try Hauppage.|||If both your computer and the TV box have HDMI outlets then you should be able to just buy an HDMI cable for a couple dollars. If not, then you will need a TV tuner.

As far as a good brand goes, shop around on Amazon or something.

Can I move my TV to another cable outlet for my AT&T Uverse?

I want to move my furniture around and have alother cable outlet on the other side of my living room but I am wondering if it will work. Or usually does the technician only put power to the outlet they used during installation?|||Presumably, you don't have an outlet at the new location already, yes? If so, the simplest option is to retire the present outlet and re-run its connecting cable through the walls to the new location. That's an easy job for a licensed electrician or a do-it-yourselfer with solid experience in such work. You can then connect the U-Verse receiver and it will work as it did before.

Otherwise, you'd need to install a new cable run through the walls, from the U-Verse splitter to the new outlet. Again, if you re-use the splitter port that went to the old outlet (and retire that outlet), no technical work by AT%26amp;T is necessary, providing the new F-fittings are installed on the cable ends with professional quality.

If it was me, I'd have AT%26amp;T do the work whichever way you want to go. That will ensure that the job is done right, and if there are any problems, they'll fix it. The only hangup you might run into is that the AT%26amp;T installer might not do the necessary interior wall wiring that an electrician could easily do. You'll just have to ask.

Whenever you unplug and then re-power a U-Verse receiver, be sure to go through the boot-up procedure shown on the front panel sticker.|||you might be able to if its working

if not you can run the cable outlet to where you want it

just get a connector and some RG6 cable and run it along the floorboards|||Usually they activate only the one they install. You could just take the box to the outlet and see if it works, it's possible it's active.

Can I use ATT Uverse box without some sort of activation?

If I buy an ATT Cable box from ebay, or some other source. Can I wire it into a splitter via coax cable and use it? Or is there some sort of activation on the box that forces me to contact ATT about it?|||Hate to agree with the other post, but you are better off not buying an AT%26amp;T U-Verse Set Top Box/Receiver/Cable Box from anyone other then AT%26amp;T themselves. It will be 55 dollars for a technician to come out and install it and be 7 dollars a month added onto your current bill. You may get a nice person that will waive the installation fee for the box but they probably won't be able to.

Just don't fall for anyone trying to sell you a box outside of AT%26amp;T because it is not a legitimate purchase and the help desk at AT%26amp;T won't be able to get it working for you.|||You cannot buy them, for they were not sold by the provider or manufacturer to end users.

Any box sombebody has is a non-returned rental/lease box which they have to right to sell you.

Should you buy a box, it will probably need to be activated and married to your account, which the provider will most liekly simply refuse to do.

I currently have directv I was thinking of switching to uverse any uverse subscribers out there?

Not a subscriber but when I was considering Uverse I read some reviews online and people who had it generally didn't like it.

ATT Uverse how does the installation work?

I'm very interested in getting this service. My only issue at this point is how is the product installed? I own an old brick home and do not want anyone to drill additional holes to accomodate any lines. Has anyone had this service done? Can an installer utilize existing lines/gaps where my current satellite feed is through? I called ATT customer service and they tell me I need to meet with an installer just to find out.|||Well they can either go through the cable lines in your home, or through the phone lines. Though they may have to install jacks or run cable if you don't have any. I have my Uverse through the phone lines and it is great!!

Can I get Uverse installed if I don't have a television. I have a phone line, tho.?

I am moving into an apartment and haven't had time to buy a TV so for now I would rather have internet connection to my laptop than a television. Is a televsion necessary for Uverse to connect me to the internet?

Also, any thoughts on just purchasing a 'wireless card' or am I taking a risk from going on an unsecured network?|||If you plan to buy a TV soon, there's an advantage in getting your U-Verse installation after getting the TV. The U-Verse technician will connect the U-Verse receiver to your TV, get it working properly, and program the U-Verse remote to your TV.

If you don't have your TV on the premises when the installation is done, then you'll have to do all that yourself when you get the TV. It's not really difficult, but it winds up being a challenge for a lot of people.

But if you just want to start with U-Verse Internet and digital phone, it certainly can be done.|||sure you could get uverse for just internet or internet and phone with out television service... they would love to sell you a triple play package of all 3 services, but it is not required...

if by wireless card you mean a WiFi card - and steal someone elses WiFi signal.. that is never a good thing.. not only is stealing wifi against the law in most cases, it also requires that you trust the network that you are connecting to that the admin did not set the access point up to perform MITM attacks against anyone who pops onto the unsecured wifi network - along with anyone else who may be sniffing the unencrypted traffic on that network..

if you mean a cellular data card, then that should be fine..

Also try to check whether your home theater is working fine, try using electronic test equipment periodically.

If I have a wireless adapter for my desktop can I pick up a signal from AT & T Uverse?

Will the Airlink wireless adapter pick up the signal as long as I have the code from the house computer's router?|||It should work, just like it would for a laptop, unless something interferes with the signal and the signal is too weak. If they still used WEP by default, the default WEP key is probably on your 2Wire modem in square brackets [ ] unless you changed it.

But it can depend upon home construction. In my 100 yr old home I can get wireless on 2nd floor with 2Wire in the basement. But my boss in newer home could not get wireless at kitchen table right above 2Wire in basement office, so I rigged something else up to get wireless on main floor.

I have ATT Uverse my phone tv wireless internet all go through a gateway modem. I am getting interference?

from a ham radio operator directly behind me. Is there anything that can be done to eliminate this interference.|||Is this person really a ham radio operator, or a CB operator running illegal power. Ham operators apply proper engineering practices to avoid interference. CB operators have no knowlege or care of such practices.

If he is a ham, simply making contact with him would be fin, ashe'd surely be happy to help. A CBer would not try to help you.

I want to purchase a Ipad. I use Verizon for my phone. Can I somehow use my home uverse account for iPad apps?

Can I buy an iPad and somehow use it thru my AT%26amp;T Uverse cable-home phone account?|||I'm not sure. Maybe if you call AT%26amp;T, you shouldn't ask questions that you know could be better answered by someone else.

And, the answer is No, because you don't have a internet service provider with AT%26amp;T.|||I use the Aiseesoft Total Video Converter. It can convert video to MP4/MKV/WMV/AVI and other popular formats such as: H.264/MPEG-4 AVC, FLV, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, 3GP, 3GPP, DivX, Mov, M4V, DivX, XviD, ASF, SWF, VOB, DV, Super VCD(NTSC, PAL, SECAM), VCD(NTSC, PAL, SECAM) , DVD(NTSC, PAL, SECAM) and HD video.

I know their from at%26amp;t...but what is the difference? I'm moving into my new apartment in two months and i was told at%26amp;t is the best but which do i choose? Thanks|||uverse is atts fiber optic line. they are trying to phase out old phone lines with fiber optic. Uverse offers tv, phone, and high speed internet. phone line offers phone and dial up or dsl, if your not close enough to a dsl server your only option then would be to use dial up or a different cable provider, and they don't like to run two separate lines.

If I have AT&T Uverse can I hook up a cable modem to the outlet in the room and have Internet?

Am I really going to have to pay for Internet if I have uverse? I'm already paying an arm and a leg for the tv service..|||No. And they may press charges for theft of services, since this would be very easy to detect.|||When you get Uverse, that should include a broadband Internet connection. In fact the TV service uses IPTV which means it actually streams the TV channels over the Internet connection.

You can't just hook up a cable modem though, as far as I know Uverse uses fibre [US: Fiber] optics. The service should come with a Fibre Optic modem and possibly a router (or you can purchase a router yourself) to share the connection between your PCs and TV set-top boxes.|||It won't work, they have special equipment.

Finding the name of a show I watched 2 days ago on att uverse?

I watched a movie 2 nights ago, and I tried to go to guide but it wont let me go back any futher than an hour of the current time. I'm sure someone on here will know.|||go to tvguide.com and create a free account; then select your location and tv service provider and set your channel preferences. a grid will appear; if you click on the double arrows at the left top of the grid, it will take you back. there is also a box where you can select the date you want to review.

Can you switch names/accounts on an ATT Uverse bill without cutting the line?

My roomate recently got att internet and its under his name, now he's moving out but I'd like to keep it and put it under my name if its possible without cutting it. Is this possible?|||With his written permission, yes.

I have uverse, when I try to record on my dvd recorder, a window opens and says, can't record, copywrited.?

I've always recorder off HBOetc. Now I can only record regular channels. Is there anyway I can get around this copywrite.|||There are certain channels (Smithsonian is one) that are plainly identified in the guide as not permitted for recording. If any channel is not so marked in the guide, you should be able to record it on the DVR. If you are getting the "copywrited" warning, you're not on one of the channels plainly marked as not-recordable (like Smithsonian), and you're only recording it in the normal manner via the U-Verse DVR, something isn't right. Call customer service, 800-288-2020. Give them the specific program name, time, and channel that exhibited the problem.

Per the other answer, recording via a DVR does not violate copyright laws because the recording does not leave the DVR and it's eventually deleted. The violation occurs if you make an off-line copy of the recording and give or sell it to another party.|||Not that is discussable here, because we respect copyrights here.

Copy protection is used, from a business standpoint, to protect DVD sales, becasue your subscription to the channel on a TV service, really is not an entitlement to a permanent copy of recordings.

Why do I keep getting disconnected with AT&T Uverse?

I got AT%26amp;T uverse a few weeks ago and, until tonight, it was fine. Now I keep getting disconnected. I can't stay online for more than 5 minutes. I've tried restarting the modem and even unplugging it. Nothing works. Do I have a junk modem or is the service just garbage?

I can't get cable or fios out where I live so this is the best I can get. Anyone know the cause of this problem?|||When you say you get disconnected, describe what exactly is happening? Are you actually seeing something pop up on your computer that says you're disconnected, or does the Internet just stop working?

If you've restarted the modem, it sounds like you have the basic stuff covered. Are you using a router? If so, disconnect it and connect directly to the modem to see if the problem goes away. You need to eliminate as much as possible from the equation to figure out where the problem is.

If you connect directly to the modem and it still doesn't work, you just need to bite the bullet and call their tech support. I know it can be frustrating talking to the $7/hr phone monkeys, but that's the only way you'll get them to fix the problem for you.

Why do I have to reboot my AT&T Uverse every time I turn on my Samsung 9000 Series TV?

I bought this new TV, a Samsung 9000 Series and it is great. However, every time I turn it on in the morning, it says it is not getting power. So, I reboot my AT%26amp;T Uverse box and then everything works fine. So. . .it is getting power. Any thoughts?|||That's really curious. Nothing like that happens with my big Samsung, with U-Verse.

My guess is that it has something to do with the programming of the U-Verse remote. I'd want to approach it in two steps. One, get the instructions for programming the U-Verse remote (see the first link), and cancel whatever programming you have now, presumably for the Samsung. You should be able to do that by programming the remote to code 0000. Then, temporarily use the Samsung remote to operate the TV and the U-Verse remote to operate the U-Verse receiver.

That should clear the problem. Now, step two, go to the programming guide for the remote again, and re-program it for your TV. Get the code from the 2nd link below. Note that there are two batches of Samsung codes, under "TV" and "HDTV." Since your set is a very new model, I'd start with the last number under "HDTV" and work backwards until I found the right code. Test each one with power on/off, volume up-down, and mute. When you find the code that works all of those as expected on your TV, you're done.

How do i download and install at&t uverse service & support tool ?

I cant find linke to download and install the at%26amp;t uverse service %26amp; support tool.|||The first question is why do you want it? It's really a pain if you have a basic understanding of networking and systems. If you don't plan on leaving the AT%26amp;T bubble you can use it to manage your wireless network, but getting rid of it later can be a nightmare. Use the web version instead.

Is there a way to turn off the internet connection but not the TV in Uverse?

My son keeps sneaking onto the computer and stays up all night. Turning off the internet would be easier than taking his whole computer out of his room.

When I turn the whole thing off the TV takes an hour to boot back up the next day.

It's wireless.|||You have 3 options to get his computer to stop accessing the modem to get online.

You can setup MAC filtering to block his computer from connecting to the modem.

You can change the wireless key so his computer will not be able to access the modem.

You can disable wireless inside the modem.

Note: If you do not have a computer that is hard wired you will need to plug a computer into the modem to turn the wireless capabilities back on or call technical support to turn it on for you.

1. Open a web browser.

2. Go to 192.168.1.254

3. Click on the green wireless icon.

4. You can change the wireless settings in here, when you are done click save at the bottom right.

5. It will ask for the System Password that is written on the side of the router where it says System Password with 10 numbers next to it. (it is not the Wireless Network Key)

If uverse network is not prompting a password to connect my netbook wirelessly, what do i do?

It is windows 7, and if I go down to view all the network options, I run the correct one and it tells me it cannot connect; I know I need to use the password on the router but it is not giving me the option. How do I fix it??|||In network and sharing center, click on Manage wireless networks, click add, and then on Manually create a network profile. Type in the SSID in Network Name, for Security type choose "Open" for now. Put the check in "Start this connection automatically" and click ok.

Right click on the newly created network and select Properties. Click the Security tab, change security type to whichever type you have configured on your router, select the encryption type, and then manually enter the security key. Click ok, and it should connect you. If not, try right clicking the newly created network and connect.

Was told that a Kodak 5250 wireless printer cannot be hooked up to att uverse internet service?

This was told while trouble shooting with Kodak technician. Printer will not recognize att wireless.|||"AT%26amp;T Wireless" is the cell phone system, so that's obviously not going to work. But if the printer's manual says that it is a network printer and shows it connected to a router, there's no reason why the U-Verse residential gateway (modem-router) would not make it work. It does so with other network printers.

How to connect my Xbox 360 to my Att-Uverse Cable Box?

I tried connecting the Ethernet from the box to xbox, xbox to ethernet, and xbox and uverse box to att 2wire modem (disconnected because I switch to Uverse). all didnt work!|||If the cable box is a modem, connect the router to it and the X-Box to the router. If the cable box is a router, connect the X-Box to it. If the cable box is for TV, it has nothing to do with the internet. You can't use a modem with the cable box - if it's an internet box, it *is* a modem.

Well i wanna know how many recordings i could record in uverse. I already recorded 22 recordings. Most of them are American Idol things. I want to record some movies and tv shows we missed. So can you help me with this question?|||It doesn't go by amount of tv shows it goes by hours. So your going have to do the math, like 2 hours would equal 4 tv shows. ATT router settings would be nice.|||You can try to disable WiFi protected setup or change the type of encryption to a lower level.

To get into the wireless settings:

1. Open your web browser.

2. Go to 192.168.1.254

3. Click the green wireless icon.

4. Set WiFi protected setup to Disabled and click save at the very bottom right.

5. Enter the System Password and hit submit. (the system password is on the side of the router next to System Password and is different from the wireless network key.)

If this doesn't work change the encryption to WEP-open and choose a different key.

If i connect my ipod touch to my att uverse wireless internet, would the bill for att cost more or no?

I got an ipod touch and ive been using the internet from my wireless in my house and i started wondering would the att bill cost more money if i used the wifi on my ipod?|||No it wouldnt cost more on your ipod. Just set it up youll be fine|||it depends on your contract with your isp if you have unlimited downloads then no need to worry, if you have a limited amount of download per month it will push you nearer, but evne then i would be surprised if you hit your limit.|||No. AT%26amp;T don't care what you use to access the internet.

Does AT&T Uverse run through the phone lines or the cable line?

My house isn't wired for cable (shocking, I know!) so I was wondering how Uverse was transmitted into the house? If it's thru the phone lines then I wouldn't have to have the house rewired. I was just looking for some really basic information that I couldn't find on their website.|||Uverse brings fiber to your home. Then it can use the phone network although ethernet would be better.|||Uverse runs fiber optic to a box that supplies several homes. From there I think it runs by coax cable to your house.

I know Verizon Fios runs a fiber optic cable directly to your house.

How do I get my samsung soundbar to be compatible to my att uverse remote?

Uverse comes standard with an IR remote (direct line of site inferred). If you ordered an RF remote to control your Uverse set top box then chances are you can not control you Sound Bar with the Uverse remote.

Now, if your Uverse remote is IR then you will need to teach (or aka: learn) the Samsung Sound Bar IR codes into your Uverse remote. You need to consult your Uverse remote users manual to discover how to get into Uverse remote programming and your need to consult your Samsung Sound Bar users guide to learn how to get into setup as well.

If you TV is Samsung and you are sucessful your remote will control both the TV speakers and your sound bar; therefore, you'd want to go into the Samsung TV settings/audio and disable your tv speakers. If your TV isn't Samsung then disregard this last paragraph.

If you want to understand IR %26amp; RF remotes a little better then go here: http://www.allabouthomeelectronics.com

How to find a WPA passphrase for ATT uverse?

Im trying to hook up a wireless printer and I have the SSID but I have no idea where to find the WPA and it stared out on the security page? Any ideas?|||When you configured your router you set the security for it...

If you forgot it, you will need to logon to the router (following the instructions in the manual that came with it) to view the current settings...

If all else fails, there is usually a reset switch on the router that will reset it to "factory default" settings... Since the default usually has security setting turned OFF, you will not need any security code at all, but should reset it as soon as possible to prevent someone hijacking it from you!

Also, are you sure it is set for WPA and not WEP? See the attached reference about settings, since it says the default setting for that router is WEP! Again, logging on to the router with an existing attached PC is the best means of viewing the current settings!

Another thing to try:

If you have a two wire uverse router, the WPA information is located on the bottom front of the router. The WPA is found underneath the router's serial number. If your router is mounted to a basement wall, don't worry. You can slide the router off of the mounting screws so that you have access to the bottom of the router box. Flip the router over, write down the WPA number and enter into the printer.

Finally you can call ATT customer support to assist!|||the U-VERSE 2wire RESIDENTIAL GATEWAY or modem router, has a sticker bellow it, if it is standing upright tthe sticker is located on it side.

Does anyone else have a zoomed in TV picture on AT&T Uverse?

I have an older 25" CRT TV, and the picture, whenever I watch broadcast shows on Uverse, looks zoomed in. Anyone else have this problem?|||I ran through the menu options with my U-Verse remote and didn't find anything that would affect the image geometry like you've described. The conclusion is that your TV is zooming transmissions that are sent in wide screen, which may be the majority of them. If some programming looks un-zoomed, especially non-prime time shows sent in conventional 4:3 format, then that most certainly is the cause.

Your set is probably too old to have screen size and zoom options like a modern flatscreen, so this may not be something you can fix without springing for a new TV.

How do i get rid of parental controls? I have att uverse and my rents blocked anything rated r or unrated?

i got rid of the blocks for like a week because the cable box got messed up but it reset itself and now its back to normal. anyone who can figure out how to get past the parental controls is my hero!!!!!|||Well you shouldn't be doing that because your parents did it for a reason. Buuuuut you can make the box go through a hard reboot. This is how it's done: On the box there is a power button and also some arrows and an Ok button on the right. Your going to press and how the Power button, the Down arrow and the Ok button all at the same time. After about 7 seconds let go of Power but keep the Down arrow and Ok held down for about 15 more seconds. This will send the box through a few screens, with one gear and then two gears. It's gonna take the whole thing about 10-15 minutes, but it will remove all the settings on that box including parental controls. Have fun.

Which uverse option should i get for internet?

I want to get just internet with the promotional price for a year but am torn between the thirty dollars a month for 12 mbs or forty dollars a month for 18 mbs. I do online gaming on both my PC and ps3 and use my ps3 to stream netflix. We have two laptops which are used for gaming or farmville-type games. I tend to download a lot as well. Also if it is possible and how if I could get the installation or equipment fee waived?|||For your intended usage, I'd recommend the fastest option that's available to you.

As for installation fees, there were none when I signed up. If they have such a fee now, try to negotiate it with the rep when you call to sign up. Make it a condition of getting you for a new customer. Be prepared to commit to a minimum term though, which would only be fair.

However, I opted for the triple play, TV + Internet + Phone. All 3 are great, but I don't do online games, so I'm doing fine with just the 6 mb/s download speed.

If a blistering fast download speed is important to you, choose the fastest available on U-Verse in your area, probably 18 or 24 mb/s.

What channel does the TV have to be on to get AT&T Uverse to work?

What channel does the TV have to be on for Uverse to work?|||You don't use your tuner to select a channel. Your U-Verse receiver is most likely connected to an HDMI input port on the back of your TV. It could also be on another type of input. You need to select the correct input with your TV's remote, i.e. "HDMI-1" or whatever.

Once you've done that, leave that setting on your TV and change channels on the U-Verse receiver with the AT%26amp;T remote.

Can I move ATT Uverse receiver to different room?

I'm planning on getting ATT uverse. But currently one of the TV is in a smaller bedroom. Can I keep using my current Brighthouse DSL internet and still switch to ATT uverse Cable tv?

I heard that ATT would want to use the existing cable, instead installing a new one.|||Yes. U-verse and cable services are completely different and separate. U-Verse enters your home on your common landline phone line, or in some localities via a dedicated fiberoptic cable.

BTW, as suggested above, U-Verse is not "cable TV." It's an entirely different technology.

-------------

Followup: there could be a minor issue regarding the coaxial cable that extends from the Brighthouse interface (outside) to your Internet modem. If that cable is also part of the path for your TV service, then there might be a need for a separate coaxial cable run for a portion of your installation, but it would be a minor portion.

You can avoid all that by transferring your Internet service from Brighthouse to U-Verse--easy to do, since you're getting U-Verse anyway. All you need is an ethernet cable from the U-Verse gateway (modem-router) to your computer. That would easily solve any issues about the coaxial cable in your house.|||Yes, you can keep Brighthouse Networks as an ISP. Brighthouse Networks provides internet access over a cable modem, Not DSL so you will have no problems with that. Just make sure that AT%26amp;T stays out of BHN's house box as it is technically trespassing. They are also notorious for steeling lines when they do installs. So if you do get AT%26amp;T make sure they leave you modem line in tact and alone. (they have been known to cut the line also)

How many times a day does a AT&T UVerse call center rep say the phrase "I do apologize for that..."?

Why does my att uverse dvr record only part of my program?

I have an hour show set to record everyday. Occasionally, only part of the show records. How can I fix that?|||It would help to know what part of the program is consistently missing. The first few minutes? The last few minutes? Something else?

How can I copy what is on my Uverse DVR?

You can by copying A/V to a capture device on your computer, or a DVD recorder.|||As per this Uverse faq:

http://www.att-services.net/att-u-verse/鈥?/a>

You may play with cables and use the available outputs on your DVR. But to simply copy is quite a challenge, or even impossible.

And even if one would find a way of doing it, you would be in wrong shoes as that would be against the law, especially if you would share that with others.

On the honest side, I agree it would be nice to backup stuff that you like, just for yourself.

How does AT&T Uverse TV work? Is it through the phone line - is it the coax cable line? ?

Is it through the phone line? Is it the coax cable line? Does anybody have experience with U-verse? Do you like it?|||It depends where you are.

Some places are doing fiber to the neighborhood (to a refrigerator sized box which all the neighborhood's copper phone lines converge), others with fiber to the home.

In the former case, you will get a DSL gateway modem/router, which the Set-Top boxes connect to via ethernet or coaxial cable.

In the latter case, the fiber gateway (usually installed on the outside of your home) directly provides the ethernet and/or coax connection, as well as telephone.

If coax is used, it uses a sort of coax networking, not traditional analog or digital cable.|||AT%26amp;T is switching their phone lines to optical lines. When they do then the TV signals are carried over the same lines as the phone.

I mean, you need to connect it to a video feed, don't you?

If that box has no ATT-uverse feed, you need to call At%26amp;T, otherwise, it is a no brainer.|||I know nothing of that particular cable box but I would expect it to be connected via some sort of AV cables to the TV and so all you are doing is connecting the AV cable to a differnet TV. Can You record different shows in different rooms with ATT Uverse?

We are about to switch from Directv to AT%26amp;T U-Verse and. We Currently have 2 DVRs. I have one in my bedroom and there is one in the family room. I am wondering if I will still be able to record shows from my bedroom with the AT%26amp;T U-verse?|||With AT%26amp;T U-verse you are only allowed one DVR per home, but you can schedule recordings to the DVR and view them from all the cable boxes in your home.

How can I extend a uverse network cable?

I am moving my Tv but the cord isn't long enough....|||How far are you moving it, across the room or across the house? Across the room all you need to do is buy a longer cable from your favorite electronics store. Measure the new distance with a measuring tape and bring the original cable with you to the store. Buy one that is longer than you need.

Across the house you may have to rewire and that's a little tougher. You can call AT%26amp;T and schedule a tech to come out and run a new wire. They will charge you for the job. You can also ask them about the new wireless U-verse.

EDIT: You can extend your existing cable with a coupler. It's basically a device with 2 ports. Plug cable #1 in one port and cable #2 in the other and you have an extended cable.

How much will att uverse max turbo cost after the first year?

I was just wanting to know since the site says its 44$ for the first 12 months but I can't find what the price is after those 12 months|||Why not give AT%26amp;T a call?

Using your Uverse Motorola VIP1225 to watch video from your PC?

Is it possible to use a Uverse Motorola VIP1225 to watch online videos through your TV? I see it has a USB port front and back, but nowhere in the manual does it explain what they're used for.|||Probably not. The U-Verse DVR or receiver basically wants to see its input signal from the gateway, on its coaxial or ethernet input, not from something else like a computer, DVD player, or whatever.

I also don't know the intention for the USB jack, but suspect it's an output rather than input. It could also be a maintenance port, but that's just a guess.

How to connect ATT Uverse to HDTV that only has a F Style Coax Connection?

I have an RCA SPS36123 which is an under the cabinet HDTV. It only has a coax cable connection, so if I set the tuner for AIR it looks for HDTV channels, but I need it to be on old style channel 3, so I tried cable, but it still didnt see channel 3. Any suggestions?|||Sorry to tell you this, but you don't have HDTV. Nowhere does the manual for your RCA unit says that it is HDTV. It is just a SDTV with a wide screen and has an integrated DVD. The unit does have an ATSC tuner though. However this is worthless to you because you are not getting the signal off the air using an antenna, i.e. you are using a Set-Top-Box (STB) from AT%26amp;T Uverse. You can get an ATSC RF modulator, but that would be more expensive than your RCA TV unit. The best that you can do is to use a Standard Definition RF modulator from the AT%26amp;T STB using the yellow RCA composite video out and Red+White audio and the RF modulator will convert it to analog RF signal on Channel 3 or Channel 4.

Do you need a uverse reciever on a tv to watch the channels?

I have 3 tvs and want to know if i got just one reciever and i split the cable before it goes to the reciever, will my other tvs get the channels. I don't care about the specail features.|||No, there is no cable signal as such on the Uverse cable. What is on the cable is a network signal the Uverse box communicates over.

To get signal to watch on the other TVs, you need to split the RF out on the box, or get more Uverse boxes.|||yes you can split the cable from the box RF out

and watch the SAME channel on all 3 tv.

How do you set up At&t uverse internet connection on a nintendo DSi?

I went on the nintendo help support website and looked up my router (2wire). I tried everything and I still can't get it to connect. I was hoping someone could help me out.

Thanks in advance.|||I'm not sure about the DSi, but I can tell you the Nintendo DS and 2Wire modems have some minor issues connecting via DHCP, the DS has a mini IP stack, doesn't send things quite as it should, and the 2Wire doesn't accomidate for the DS.

Basically what you want to do is bring up a list of wireless networks on your DSi, look for one that has the last 3 of your home portal's SN in it (Look on the back of it).

When you try to connect, it'll ask for a keycode/passphrase. It should be 10 numbers right down below the SN on it, should have brackets/parenthathese on both sides, or it'll be labeled wireless keycode or wep keycode...something like that. Put those 10 numbers in it.

When you connect, if automatic (dhcp) doesn't work you need to manually assign a static IP address onto the DSi.

Try giving it an IP of say 192.168.1.95

Default gateway of 192.168.1.254

DNS servers 192.168.1.254

subnet mask of 255.255.255.0

Now that should get you to connect. Now if you have further problems, I would suggest contacting uverse support, not 2Wire. The first tier of Uverse support may not know what they're doing, if you have issues, ask to speak to the second level support, mentioning that this is an issue with the 2Wire firmware should help. At the very least they should be able to verify the information I provided.
