Can i hook my computer to my tv using the uverse cable box?

Can i hook my computer up to the t.v. using my cable box? My t.v. doesn't have all of the slots that is needed but the cable box does. And will it show up on the t.v. if i plugged them in?|||First, understand that you don't have a "cable" box. It's a U-Verse receiver. They're not the same. U-Verse is very different than cable service.

Next, those connectors you mentioned on the back of the U-Verse receiver are outputs for TVs, not inputs. You cannot connect anything to them, except to send the output of the box to your TV so you can watch channels.

Like the other answer says, you failed to identify the connections on the output of computer (VGA? DVI? HDMI?), and you failed to include the most basic necessary information for nearly all questions in this forum--the make and model of your TV. So any answer beyond what we've given thus far would only be a shot in the dark.

---------------

Followup per your Additional Details: okay, so your computer has an HDMI output. Does it have other outputs? And your TV doesn't have an HDMI input? Okay, what *does* it have?|||No!!

Your cable box has outputs which are intended to go to the TV. Plugging a cable in because it happens to be the right shape isn't exactly how you are supposed to do this, not to mention that you don't plug a computer output into a cable box output and expect anything useful to happen.

You have managed not to give any useful information that would help us give you an answer. What inputs does your TV have? If it is simply the case of not having enough of a particular input type on your TV, you can buy an external switch to connect your things to.|||if your tv only has a coaxial input its time to upgrade if you want to connect a comp to your tv .even if you could rig it up your tv is so old it couldnt handle the refresh rate anyway or the aspect or wide screen. where your computer can. time for a LCD,plasma or led TV
