I would like to connect a slingbox to my uverse setup and be able to control what I see on the TV. So my first question is: do I buy slingbox solo or slingbox pro hd? My second question is: how do i figure out where to insert the slingbox? I can't find any place that actually diagrams what cables go where. Any ideas or suggestions would be most appreciated.|||i would buy the sling box pro HD you have alot more control and more devices your able to connect to it and since it does have a dual tuner you can pick what you want to watch if you have a dvr and cable you can either watch the recorded shows or the live cable feed and be able to turn the channels on the HD pro since it does come with a IR led. you will need a router to connect your sling box to your network for the internet and a at least a 786upload speeds for view the HD with no buffering with anything less you can still watch tv but it does buffer more depends on the settings you set on your sling box all the ports on the back is for inputs and one pass thru output to the tv so you can connect the sling box into the cable/sat box then on to your tv so you will not have to run sperate wires just to it i have 2 of these one a neighbor gave me and the other i bought i love it -you can also watch your home tv no matter where you are as long as you have internet. any more question you can contact me|||It depends if you want to watch HD on the go, or are fine with SD.
Download the user manual for either Slingbox model for connection details. The Uverse box is for practical purposes, the same as a cable box, as far as Slingbox goes.
I think the Slingbox has A/V passthrough, so it connects between the provider box and the TV.
